Terms of Service

These terms cover the UGOpayme wallet, hosted checkout, and the discounts a merchant publishes. The quote on a checkout is the amount that gets paid.

The service

UGOpayme provides a shopper wallet and hosted checkout for merchants. A merchant keeps the storefront and can publish a discount that applies when the shopper pays.

A wallet balance is not a bank deposit. Opening a wallet does not verify identity. Identity checks, when they apply, are a separate step.

Offers

A merchant may publish percent off, dollar off, or buy one get one. Percent off can be from 1% through 100% of the item price. An offer can also waive the checkout fee. Each offer can be limited by product, store, date, and number of uses.

The quote shows the price, the discount, any fee, and the amount left to pay. A 100% offer covers the item price. The quote is $0 only when that offer also waives the fee. Otherwise the fee still shows and is part of what is paid.

An offer applies only when it is live and the checkout accepts it. A discount does not apply to an order that does not qualify.

What gets charged

The shopper pays the amount on the quote, by card on hosted checkout or from the wallet. If the quote is not $0, that amount is a real charge. The receipt records the amount actually paid.

Card checkout is an Instant Digital Coupon purchase used to pay the merchant. The statement descriptor is the one shown before the shopper confirms.

Fees

There is no monthly fee to open a wallet or to use the merchant console. Transaction fees follow the merchant agreement and are quoted before processing. They are not a published rate card on this site.

A shopper fee, when there is one, appears on the quote before confirmation. A merchant discount changes what the shopper pays. It does not change the merchant's processing fee unless the offer waives that fee.

Merchants

The merchant is responsible for the catalog, the offer text, and for selling only what that merchant may lawfully sell. Publishing a discount does not change what the product is.

Approval, pricing, and settlement follow underwriting and the merchant agreement. UGOpayme may refuse, hold, or close a merchant or a catalog.

Acceptance

Creating an account requires accepting these terms. These terms describe the product. They are not a substitute for the merchant agreement, and they do not promise that a particular catalog will be approved.
