Questions
Checkout and discount questions
Answers about UGOpayme hosted checkout: discounts, the quote, cards, storefronts, fees, and when a charge can go live.
What is UGOpayme?
UGOpayme is hosted checkout for a store that already has a catalog, and a place for the shopper to keep the receipt. The merchant publishes a discount — percent off, dollar off, or buy one get one — and the shopper sees the price, the discount, and what is left before paying with Visa or Mastercard.
The cart stays on the storefront. WooCommerce connects with a plugin. Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, Wix, Squarespace, ClickFunnels, and other WordPress carts send checkout to UGOpayme. A signed webhook updates the order after payment. Card numbers stay on the processor’s hosted fields. UGOpayme does not store the card number. There is no monthly platform subscription. The transaction fee is the one in the merchant agreement.
What is an instant digital coupon?
An instant digital coupon is the discount a merchant attaches to hosted checkout. It is not a code the shopper has to type, and it is not a coupon sitting in a wallet waiting to be redeemed later. When the merchant publishes an offer, the quote applies it before anyone pays.
The shopper sees three numbers: the item price, the discount, and what is left. Not every order is discounted. If the merchant has not published an offer for that checkout, the quote is the price without a coupon. The offer can be chain-wide or locked to one product.
Which discounts can a merchant publish?
Merchants publish three discount kinds, plus an optional fee waiver. Percent off takes a cut of the item price, from a small percentage up to 100%. Dollar off takes a fixed amount, optionally for one product or one store, and it cannot discount past the price of the item. Buy one get one needs a catalog product and enough units in the cart: buy N, get N.
A fee waiver sits on top of a percent or dollar offer. It does not replace the discount. It removes the checkout fee that would otherwise still show on the quote. Each offer has its own window and limit. Approval, rates, and settlement follow underwriting and the merchant agreement.
Can a discount cover the full item price?
Yes. A percent offer can be 100% of the item price. The quote then shows a zero item remainder. That is not the same thing as a zero checkout. If the offer does not also waive the fee, the fee still shows and that is what the shopper pays.
Dollar off stops at the item price. It does not create a negative total. Buy one get one only applies when the cart has enough units of that product. The quote is the amount that will be charged. The shopper confirms that number, not a separate advertised price.
When is the checkout quote $0?
The quote can be $0 only when two things are both true: the offer covers the full item price, and that offer also waives the fee. A 100% discount without a fee waiver still leaves the fee on the quote. A fee waiver without a full discount still leaves the discounted item price.
If the quote is $0, there is nothing left to charge on that order. The receipt still records the offer, the waiver, and the result. The merchant sees that checkout on the console after the shopper finishes.
Which cards can a shopper use?
Shoppers pay with Visa or Mastercard on hosted checkout. The card form is the processor’s hosted fields. The storefront does not take the card number, and the merchant console does not ask the shopper to type a card into the store’s own page.
Hosted checkout is the same path for a WooCommerce plugin order and for a storefront that redirects. The shopper can sign in or register and verify email when the flow asks for an account. The discount, if one is published, is already on the quote before the card is confirmed.
Does UGOpayme store card numbers?
No. Card numbers stay on the processor’s hosted fields. UGOpayme does not store the card number. Checkout still collects the order, the amount, the shopper contact details needed for the receipt, and the result of the payment.
The merchant can see their own orders and receipts. Platform admins can see an application so they can approve or refuse it. The processor receives what it needs to authorize and settle that order. Signup collects the email, phone, chain name, legal business name, owner name, website, and a short description of the catalog.
Is there a monthly platform fee?
There is no monthly platform subscription and no console subscription. Opening the merchant console does not add a platform plan. The transaction fee is the one written in the merchant agreement for that store.
A merchant offer changes what the shopper pays. It does not replace the agreement. The quote shows the discount and, unless the offer waives it, the fee. Rates are not a public price list. They follow underwriting and the agreement for that catalog.
Which storefronts can connect?
The public catalog is Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento (Adobe Commerce), Wix, Squarespace, ClickFunnels, and WordPress. WordPress here means Easy Digital Downloads or a custom cart. A WooCommerce store uses the WooCommerce plugin, not the generic WordPress redirect.
Direct API is the same hosted checkout without a storefront plugin. The merchant sends the order, the shopper pays on UGOpayme, a signed webhook updates the merchant, and the shopper returns to the store’s URL. Every platform keeps its own catalog and theme. UGOpayme takes the card payment and the discount.
How does WooCommerce connect?
Install the WooCommerce plugin once. WordPress cannot run UGOpayme itself. The plugin needs WordPress 6.4 or newer, PHP 8.1 or newer, and WooCommerce 8 or newer. Enable Instant Digital Coupon. Do not enter a merchant key, secret, API base, or public key in the plugin.
UGOpayme already has the store’s site address, webhook, and processor. Ops marks the store live there. Until that happens, sandbox stays sandbox. The shopper pays with Visa or Mastercard on hosted checkout, and the store confirms the result with UGOpayme. The plugin zip is on the Downloads page.
How does Shopify connect?
Shopify does not list UGOpayme as an in-admin card method. Keep the Shopify store, theme, and catalog. Save the shop domain and Admin API token in Payment Accounts. The theme button does not include a merchant key or secret. The custom app scopes used for that connection are write_draft_orders, write_orders, and read_orders.
The button opens hosted checkout. The shopper pays with Visa or Mastercard. UGOpayme marks the Shopify order paid, then the shopper returns to the store. Sandbox stays sandbox until that connection is marked live.
What happens after the shopper pays?
A signed webhook updates the order. On Shopify, UGOpayme marks the order paid. On the other redirect storefronts, the merchant’s store marks the order paid from that webhook. WooCommerce confirms the result through the plugin. The shopper returns to the store, or to the funnel thank-you page on ClickFunnels.
The console keeps a chargeback-ready receipt snapshot for the sale. The merchant can see hosted checkout sessions, whether a coupon applied, and who was charged. Disputes can be opened and closed from the console. Review holds watch volume. Each merchant is approved on its own catalog and agreement.
When can a store take a live charge?
Live charges stay off until the application is approved. Sandbox stays sandbox until that store, or that connection, is marked live. Accepting the merchant agreement records the time of acceptance. It does not by itself verify identity or turn processing on.
Settlement pays that order to that merchant. It does not pool one store’s orders onto another. The path to a live checkout is the console, the plugin or the redirect, and hosted card checkout. Rates and approval follow underwriting and the merchant agreement, not a self-serve switch.
Where do receipts and disputes live?
Receipts live on the merchant console after checkout. Each sale can keep a durable receipt snapshot for a chargeback. SMS acknowledge and resend are available when an order needs a record. The shopper’s receipt is part of the checkout result, not a separate document the store has to assemble by hand.
Disputes are opened and closed from the console. Review holds and review flags sit next to that book. Sales can be sliced by product and date so the store can see what moved. None of that requires a monthly platform plan.
