Connect a store to hosted checkout
Keep the storefront. WooCommerce uses a plugin. Other carts redirect to UGOpayme hosted checkout. Visa and Mastercard stay on the processor’s fields, and a signed webhook updates the order.

How do you connect a store to hosted checkout?
You connect a store by leaving the catalog where it is and sending payment to UGOpayme hosted checkout. The shopper pays with Visa or Mastercard. The merchant’s discount, if one is published, is already on the quote. A signed webhook updates the order, and the shopper returns to the store. The storefront does not become the card form.
WooCommerce is the plugin path. Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, Wix, Squarespace, ClickFunnels, and WordPress carts that are not WooCommerce are redirect paths. Direct API is the same hosted checkout called by the merchant’s own system. None of these replace the theme or ask the merchant to re-enter the catalog product by product before the first payment.
Connection is not the same thing as going live. Sandbox stays sandbox until that store or that connection is marked live. Live charges stay off until the application is approved. The plugin, the theme button, or the redirect can be installed before approval. They do not turn processing on by themselves.
What stays on the store?
The store keeps the theme, the catalog, and the cart. UGOpayme hosts the card payment and the quote. Card numbers are entered on the processor’s hosted fields. UGOpayme does not store the card number. The merchant console then holds the receipt snapshot, the offer, review holds, and disputes.
WooCommerce merchants download one plugin. The plugin requirements are WordPress 6.4 or newer, PHP 8.1 or newer, and WooCommerce 8 or newer. Enable Instant Digital Coupon. Do not type a merchant key, secret, API base, or public key into the plugin. UGOpayme already has the site address, the webhook, and the processor. Ops marks the store live on that side.
Shopify merchants do not install a card gateway inside Shopify Payments. They save the shop domain and an Admin API token in Payment Accounts and add a theme button. The button does not contain a merchant key or secret. The app scopes for that connection are write_draft_orders, write_orders, and read_orders. When the shopper pays, UGOpayme marks the Shopify order paid.
What does the webhook do?
The webhook is how the store learns the checkout result. Redirect storefronts mark the order paid from the signed webhook. WooCommerce confirms through the plugin. Shopify is marked paid by UGOpayme, then the shopper returns to the store. ClickFunnels returns the shopper to the funnel thank-you page. Squarespace has no custom card gateway, so the button opens UGOpayme and the webhook is what marks the order paid.
The webhook is signed so the store can tell it came from the checkout that just finished. The merchant should update the order from that event, not from the shopper’s browser alone. A closed tab is not a payment result. The console still has the session if the store needs to look at coupon, amount, and who was charged.
Direct API uses the same idea. The merchant sends the shopper to hosted checkout. The shopper signs in or registers, verifies email, and pays with Visa or Mastercard. The coupon applies on the order. UGOpayme sends a signed webhook. The shopper returns to the merchant’s URL. The store remains the system of record for the catalog.
What should you set up first?
Open the merchant console and say what the catalog is and which offers the store will run. Accepting the agreement records that acceptance. It does not approve processing. Connect the platform second: plugin, theme button, or redirect. Take the card third, on hosted checkout, once the store is allowed to. Keep the book fourth: receipts, holds, disputes, and settlement for that merchant’s own orders.
Choose the platform the store already sells on. A WooCommerce site should use the Woo plugin, not the generic WordPress redirect. The WordPress redirect is for Easy Digital Downloads or a custom cart. Wix Stores should leave Wix Payments off that catalog and use an external checkout button. BigCommerce and Magento add an offsite or redirect payment method aimed at the UGOpayme checkout URL.
Downloads has the plugin zip and the setup notes. Each integration page restates the steps for that platform. The offer math is the same on all of them: percent off, dollar off, buy one get one, and an optional fee waiver, shown on the quote before the shopper pays.
- Tell the console the catalog and the offers.
- Connect WooCommerce with the plugin, or point another storefront at hosted checkout.
- Leave sandbox as sandbox until the store is marked live.
- Let the shopper pay on the quote. Update the order from the signed result.
